This 1 1/2 hour Kauai horseback riding adventure gives you some of the best scenery Kaua'i has to offer, at a relaxed and enjoyable pace.
This is truly a 360-degree experience! The four points of the compass bring four distinct views. Ride out on our "makai" or ocean-side lands, to see the dramatic bluffs. With the majestic Hanalei mountains behind you, cross open green pastures to reach several overlooks of the vast blue Pacific and Anini Reef, the largest reef in Hawaii. Look to the East and see the historic Kilauea Lighthouse and bird sanctuary. Look to the West to Makana, made famous as Bali Hai in the movie South Pacific. Weather Kaua‘i’s North shore is famous for its intermittent showers. Rides go out rain or shine. Rain panchos are provided. However, in the event of inclement weather at the time of departure, rides may be rescheduled at Princeville Ranch Stables management discretion.
Attire We recommend long pants. We require completely covered shoes, like tennis shoes or hiking boots. Waterfall Ride guests are encouraged to wear a bathing suit under their clothes so that they can enjoy a swim in our waterfall pool.
Ride Check-in Check in and registration for all rides is 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure. All rides check in at the main Princeville Ranch Stables facility.
Guest Riding Experience All Princeville Ranch Stables rides are safe for the first-time rider and enjoyable for the experienced horse person. All rides are scenic walking rides. The Private Ride guide may allow some trotting and cantering, based on guest ability and safety factors.
Age Limit Princeville Ranch Stables welcomes riders ages 8 and above. Children under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 18 must have written consent from a parent. Riding double on one horse is not allowed.
Safety, Physical Condition and Weight Limits For the safety of all guests, riders must be in good physical condition and fit comfortably and securely in the saddle. Princeville Ranch Stables reserves the right to refuse anyone whom we determine is in poor physical condition or in any way impaired so that they are unable to safely complete a Ranch ride or related hike. Weight and height restrictions apply. Maximum weight is 230 pounds.
Guides and Tack All rides are led by trained professional guides certified in First Aid and CPR and equipped with cellular telephones. We provide western saddles only. Helmets are available upon request and are required for children ages 8-12.

located on a 300 acre private estate nestled into the high
interior valley of Kalihiwai Ridge on Kauai's incredible
North Shore. The riding trails wind through our botanical
gardens and then into pristine Hawaiian wildlands before
arriving at a lovely waterfall sparkling silver in the sunlight.
The ultimate tropical backdrop to enjoy a refreshing swim
and Hawaiian style picnic. Our beautiful trails, well trained
horses and expert guides are suited to all levels of riding

horseback riding tour !!
You get it all with this picture-perfect horseback riding
experience. Cross ranch pastures with breathtaking
panoramic views of mountains and ocean. You
might find yourself riding through our herds of cows, calves
and horses along the way. After you tie-up your horse, your
adventure continues with a short 10- to 15-minute
hike down a steep trail with steps and handholds,
through a tropical forest with views of a lush valley and
sounds of cascading falls. You will be awed by the power
of our fern-lined 80-foot waterfall and the peacefulness
of the setting. Take a refreshing dip in the
waterfall pool, where you can explore the
views on ledges behind the falls or simply float to your
heart‘s content. Savor the flavors of
our freshly made and delicious picnic lunch. Afterward,
if conditions permit, return to your horse via a different
hiking trail, complete with a crossing atop the falls, a
short rock climb and yet another scenic waterfall setting

Peek into the interior of the island while enjoying a ride
geared to horse lovers and photographers .There are so many
opportunities to capture the images of Kauai! Some trotting
and cantering are possible, depending on group dynamics
; this may be taken as a walk only ride for less experienced
riders. No riding experience necessary; families of mixed
abilities and guests who have not ridden in many years will
enjoy this ride. A lesson on stopping, turning, and trotting
your horse in the arena is incorporated before venturing
on the trail, with fun and education assured. 48-hour
cancellation policy.

Half - 4 hour ride with lunch 8:30am

On this faster paced ride equestrians will trot and canter
into a Hawaiian forest reserve. Enjoy panoramic ocean and
mountain views, sights of untouched deep lush valleys, and
glimpses of fern covered canyons. Taste a guava, smell camphor,
and feel the paper bark trees. Edible and medicinal plants
are highlighted. This is an exceptional opportunity to learn
about Kauai's history and culture. All riders must be ready
to trot and canter. Not necessarily experts, but experienced
riders only please. 48-hour cancellation policy.
The
Wow! Ride - 6 hour ride with snacks 8:00am

A fast pace, including trotting and cantering, brings us
up into the mountains where looking around you continually
say "WOW!!!" Each view is more amazing than the
last. Ride on ancient lava flows and see ferns from dinosaur
times. Snack on local fruits and nuts while you stretch
your legs and mind, and savor the lush beauty surrounding
you. All riders should be fit, ready to trot and canter,
be able to mount and dismount their horses and be comfortable
with heights. 72-hour cancellation policy.
All
Day Adventure - 8 hour ride with lunch and a swim
- 8:00am
check-in
On this all day adventure for the spirit and the spirited,
we start of at a brisk pace, trotting and cantering an easy
stretch of trail. We then ride up and down the volcanic
ridges and across knife passes high in the mountains, with
unspoiled views of the interior of Kauai. Spectacular sights
await you! After 3 hours in the saddle, we arrive at a mountain
swimming hole where a deli lunch is served. Guests should
bring swim gear and towel; a private changing area is available.
On the ride back photo opportunities abound. Extra film
is a must for this ride. All riders should be fit, ready
to trot and canter, be able to mount and dismount their
horses and be comfortable with heights. 72-hour
cancellation policy.
Trail
rides are limited to 5 guests, ages 10 and up. Rides go
out Monday through Friday, morning and afternoon, starting
at our ranch and moving up into the mountains. We reserve
the right to determine suitability of ride for trail conditions
and rider's expertise. Riders must meet appropriate height
and weight ratios. There is a two person minimum on all
rides; singles may book and we will add others to your ride.
All rides begin with an orientation lesson in the arena,
and go out rain or shine; rain gear is provided. Long pants
and sox are required (available for rent at a nominal charge);
riding helmets and boots are required and provided at no
cost. Bottled water is provided on all rides.
